POTTERY PICK-UP WED 4-6p & Sat 11a-12p
In this 4 week courses, you will learn all there is in creating beautiful vessels you can be proud of. Throwing is all about getting every single step of the process correct, as they all play into the creation of a piece, and its survival.
The first two weeks focus heavily on centering, where you take control of the clay and prevent it taking control of you. This technique sets a potter up for success in all parts of the process going forward. In the third week, we will focus on cleaning up a piece with trimming, as well as using different carving techniques to make a piece unique to you, including your very own maker's mark.
To finish off the 4 weeks, we will delve in a brief understanding of glazing. Glazing is the grand finale, making your piece functional. All materials will be provided throughout the course.
This class is the perfect experience to start you on your pottery journey.
